Description
COOL FOR: CARD PLAYERS. MILITARY FETISHISTS. COOL PEOPLE.
Composure wants you to not crack: or, at least, it wants you to not crack in front of other people. It enables you to put up a strong front. It keeps your emotions hidden from the world and helps you to read the body language of others – to sense the cracks in their own composure. As well, it keeps you looking good while you do it. You’ll rock that disco outfit a lot more if you don’t slouch.
At high levels, Composure makes you tuck your gut in and maintain a stern expression. Even lying in bed, late night when no one else can see you, you’ll have to keep it up. You’ll never be able to stop. With low Composure, though, you’ll always be the first to crack. Every cop’s got a point when all that fear and rage comes spilling out – and the ones who unleash it don’t stay on the force much longer. Perhaps worse still, you won’t even make the ranks of Fashion Police.

- "I have nothing to say to you. Get out of my sight."
- "The legend returns. You know the deal, legend-man. Smokes are smokey, pilsner... gets…
- The woman stands, slumped. She looks catatonic under her mountain of RCM paraphernalia…
- "Hello! Isn't this a fine morning?" He nods to you, smiling.
- "Oh hey, wey. There's coffee in the back... Oh, wait, I meant the Mother's love."
- "Yes, what is it?" She doesn't look up from the keyboard.
- Shelves full of biographies of famous people, whoever they are.
- "Oh... sorry, officer... What do you want?"
- "Hey, Sylvie, it's the police again."
- "Cuno cares now."
- "Mr. Du Bois! Every worker for himself, right?" He smiles a wide sly smile. "What can I…
- "Oh hey, mister! I'm not gonna bother you with a long greeting just like we talked about…
- "I can't believe it's snowing again..." The young woman resting by the wheelbarrow sighs.
- It's the ledger you found in the trash: a cabbage of papers hanging from the board…
- "The performative experience has ended. Good -- what can I help you with?"
- "Oh," she raises her brow as to say -- and?
- "This... reality?" She pulls her hood closer around her neck.
