"You've hurt yourself now! I told you not to mess around back there. What are you even trying to accomplish, you fool?!"

"I need to know what secrets lie behind the door... It's part of a spiritual quest."

"You're only making things worse! Stop it. Be compelled to look at the books." She fiddles with her pendant. "Go to them!"

"Nothing... I'm just terribly clumsy sometimes, sorry." (Rub your aching forehead.)

"I'm trying to find a way to the fridge downstairs -- it's an urgent police matter."

"I thought it was obvious: I tried to smash through the door by using pure physical force."

"I wasn't kidding when I said we're para-psychologically done! You clearly don't care about the consequences. What gives you the right?"

"I detected psychic emanations from within and was compelled to investigate."

"Don't expect my help from now on. The back door is locked and I threw away the key. I won't trifle with such forces." She fiddles with her pendant.

"Do look at the books, though. The books compel you. You may be able to make up for this by buying a lot of books. I hope you're a voracious reader!"
