"I see the processing guys have been faster than usual. It's good we stopped by to check regardless." He nods at the lack of Ruby in the tent, then looks around. "Now -- island time."

[Leave.]

The instigator's body has been removed by Processing. The tent seems orphaned now.

The plain red tent rests stoically in the corner. Ruby's dead body is wrapped in her sleeping bag.

Look inside.

You see a rolled-up sleeping bag and personal belongings.

"We should put her in the sleeping bag so the rats don't get to her."

"Okay, let's carry her over here."

The lieutenant nods.

There she lies, cocooned in the sleeping bag, surrounded by empty cigarette packs, books, and half-read magazines.

Magazines? You should look through them.

You'll need the lieutenant's help to carry her over.

Look inside.

The tent looks old but well-maintained. In the darkness of the tent -- a rolled-up sleeping bag, cooking utensils, some books and a kerosene lamp.

It reeks of cigarettes.

Look at the books.

Assorted softcovers, mostly pulp horror. A motor carriage lies buried in the snow on one cover, on another -- a ghost airship. You also see a collection of radio enthusiast magazines.

"See anything?" The lieutenant peeks in over your shoulder.

Sift through the magazines.

'Rega Monthly', 'Journal of Material Science'. More technological digest. One of the magazines doesn't have images on the cover -- it's not a magazine, it's a leather notebook!

"A notebook." (Take it.)

You pocket the worn brown leather journal.

She watches by, motionless.

"We should read this immediately. Like -- right now."

A trusted friend left behind...

Take the notebook.

Back out of the tent.

The plain red tent rests stoically in the corner.

In the darkness of the tent: Ruby's body, zipped up in her sleeping bag. Next to the body -- some books and a kerosene lamp.

Sift through the books and magazines.

The plain red tent rests stoically in the corner.

The plain red tent stands by dispassionately.

It was pitched by practised hands -- she was used to camping out.
